New FTC Guidelines

Alot of attention has been placed on the new FTC Guidelines for Endorsements and Testimonials and their affect on bloggers and marketers.  A great posting has been made by Rose Mis on the BetterNetworker.com site with links to several sites that have really good information about the new guidelines.

The new guidelines go into effect on December 1, 2009 and there are things you need to know and be aware of in order to be in compliance with the new FTC Guidelines.

You are responsible for the compliance of your content and the necessary disclosures.

What really is important here is that there are some facts that you need to know…

The marketing strategies that are being used, the products that are being produced and promoted and each business’ structure are very unique. The FTC recognizes this and has left the new guidelines very open ended to suit their intentions when evaluating possible violations.
