If there was one thing I wish I’d learned when I first got started in network marketing, it would have been this: How to have pre-qualified, highly-interested prospects come to ME. Now that I know how to do this, I’ve been able to sponsor more people in a week than I used to in a year.
I had spent thousands of dollars on worthless leads that could care less about joining a home based business; they were more interested in whether or not they won a flat-panel TV (apparently, a lot of lead farm companies take the survey approach in collecting these so-called targeted home business opportunity seekers leads). I have also spent over $17,763 trying to figure out Google Adwords and the very special way you must go about your adwords campaigns to get the most out of your advertising dollars. I’ve spent in excess of $2,000 on e-courses and marketing classes that always left me feeling a bit confused.
Yes, I was one of the people at the grocery store that nobody wanted to be in the same line with… you know me. Yep. I may have tapped you on the shoulder and told you that you look “so familiar” and then I may have asked you if you were at one of my presentations. This would hopefully lead you to ask the question about “what sort of presentation?”…. and then I would word-vomit my business opportunity all over you while I practically glued my business card to your forehead. All while you were trying frantically to pay for your groceries and get the Hell out of there. Does any of this sound familiar?
Believe me, it took years of trial and error before I realized that what I was being taught was ALL WRONG and that there are much better ways to go about building a homes business and becoming the millionaire next door. I’ve been involved with a new network marketing company since June of 2008 and my friends and family don’t even know about it. Why? Because I absolutely refuse to talk to them about it. When they are ready to leave their time-sucking J.O.B., they’ll come around and ask me what I’m doing and how they can do it to. I realized a long time ago that I should not depend on my friends and family to build my business for me. Seriously. If I opened up a restaurant and told my friends and family about it, should I expect them to eat every meal there? Of course not. So why would I want my home business to be any different?
What is the reason for the shift of reasoning? It’s called The Renegade Network Marketer and it basically talks about how to build a huge MLM business without having to talk to anyone you know. That was a big plus for me because I was pretty much a member of the NFL Club (No Friends Left). My best friend from high school wouldn’t even return my calls because I had badgered her about joining my business that she decided she never wanted to speak to me again. We’ve patched things up since then and I never talk to her about my business. Why? Because she’s NOT INTERESTED.
I’ve learned that everyone is not your prospect. No matter what you’ve been taught by your network marketing company – everyone is not a prospect to join your business. The great thing about having your own home based business is that you get to CHOOSE who you want to work with. And when they reach out to you for information – that’s priceless.
I’m sure you are saying to yourself right now that you aren’t sure what to think of this concept yet; after all, it totally goes against the grain of anything you’ve ever read about MLM before. The Renegade Network Marketer even claims that you can get paid to prospect people and make money whether you sponsor them or not. Getting paid to prospect? What a concept! And it works.
